Interception by Maya Luque - On view through October 29, 2016

Mirrored Society presents artist Maya Luque - "Interception" Oct 1, 2016 ABOUT MAYA LUQUE Maya Luque was born in Changzhou, China but has resided in Portland, Oregon for the majority of her life. She received her B.A. in Studio Art with a minor in Visual Culture from Linfield College in McMinnville, OR. The artist currently attends Claremont Graduate University where she is currently pursuing her M.F.A. Maya makes installations primarily out of beeswax. She finds that her use of beeswax generates diverse experiences for her viewers, as the smell brings specific bodily sensations and memories. The artist integrates themes of both memory and relationships into her art practice. She will often use repetitious acts as a means of bringing a memory back into the present day. She is excited to participate in her first solo show at Mirrored Society. Music Blockhead - Central Park
